We, at Misr Language Schools, recognize that to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success.
Our theme is: Promoting Excellence Through Determination and Hard work. This standard will not only be maintained but improved upon as we promote and celebrate excellence through determination and hard work.
We have introduced more interesting and organised teaching pedagogies to ensure we provide Quality First Teaching. MLS is a unique educational environment. It is a place where we have committed ourselves to the vision of raising achievement, raising aspirations and enriching partnerships. It Is through this that we create a focus on student success.
MLS has chosen to place itself at the forefront of educational development, the focus on developing learning environments and commitment to be inclusive, with unique ways to help all students continue their learning. As a school, we recognize the importance of the global dimension and the need to prepare our students with the cross cultural competency skills to take their place in an ever changing global society.
Our vision is to make every student aware and accountable for creating an equitable and sustainable future. We welcome students of determination and ensure that each one receives a high quality of education. Along with intellectual diversity as a priority, we work towards achieving our mission.
We believe that learning is a personal, rigorous and continuous process where connections are made and strengthened so that we gain more knowledge, improve our skills and deepen our understanding.
Developing the whole child is a very important part of our ethos and as such, we develop personal goals explicitly through our whole school themes. Our school ethos is based on trust, respect and honesty. We are proud to belong to a happy, successful school where we strive to improve.
Mrs Laila El Zomor
MLS students are taught the national curriculum subjects (Arabic Language, English Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Religion, Ethics, Computer, Music, Art, Home Economics, and Physical Education.)
We use the English Language as the primary mode of communication starting from the preschool years all through secondary school.
One of our educational objectives is to enhance reading, writing, and conversational skills in both the English and French Languages. The syllabus of each subject is determined by the Ministry of Education. However, it is the quality of teachers and of our teaching methodology which makes the difference. Our creative teachers make lessons more interesting and effective through the use of group work and through the integration of cross-curricular activities.
Our goal is to teach our students research skills through group work developing them into global citizens. We mainly depend on the extensive use of our libraries, laboratories, and multi-media. In addition, we offer our students many educational school trips that serve our cross-curricular pedagogy. These include visits to historical sites as well as the Science Exploratory Centre. More importantly, our students are surrounded by a friendly atmosphere created by a team effort which promotes the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of our students.
Students are expected to exhibit appropriate behaviour. Any action that may inflict harm on oneself or on others will not be tolerated. Disrespect exhibited towards adults or peers will not be tolerated.
We use time-out, counseling, positive reinforcement, and conferring with the parents in order to avert undesirable behaviour.
The school expects its members to observe principles of honesty, fair play and respect for property and the rights of others.
The code of conduct must be thoroughly read to be aware of the consequences of every action.
